Take your herbal medicine making to the next level! Join herbalist and medicine maker, Liz Philbrick, in this hands on series to learn how to make and take a variety of herbal preparations to address common ailments. In each class, participants will learn about and make a new type of herbal medicine: herbal teas, tinctures, infused oils and salves, syrups and honey. 

In addition to making herbal medicines, in every class we will explore three herbs, learning about their medicinal properties, how to prepare them and their contraindications. At the end of this series participants will leave with the knowledge and confidence to make their own herbal medicines as well as a deep understanding of 12 herbs and how to use and prepare them. Get ready to infuse, make, taste and learn! 

This class is great for beginner and intermediate herbalists, previous herbal education is not required. Materials are included in the class fee.

Join herbalists, Liz Philbrick and Amber Graziano in this demonstration-style class and learn how to make herbal bitters from organic botanicals. Bitters are aromatic flavoring agents or medicinal extracts made from infusing herbs, fruit and spices into alcohol. Bitters have a long history of medicinal use and have returned to popularity via craft herbal bitters and cocktails. The bitter flavor of these herbs help to stimulate digestion while also supporting liver and gastrointestinal health. In addition to their medicinal benefits, bitters also offer pure cocktail enjoyment!

All participants will join us to discuss the different varieties of bitter and aromatic herbs, demonstrate how to make bitters and learn how to create custom bitter blends. Participants will go home with all the information they need to make their own bitters, and recipes. In person participants are invited to sip on a tasty herbal cocktail (or mocktail) with homemade bitters.

Class participants also have the option to purchase the Herbal Bitter Ingredient Kit to take home and start infusing herbs to make your very own bitter blends! This kit includes materials to start the process of infusing 7 different herbs that you can use to create your own bitter formulas.

Fertility Awareness Method Workshop

Fertility Awareness Method is a practice of observing and charting fertility signs to determine fertile and infertile days in a menstrual cycle. This method can be used as birth control, to achieve pregnancy, and as an indispensable tool to monitor and gauge gynecological health. 

In this two-class workshop, Liz Philbrick of Wild Rose Women’s Health will dive into the anatomy and physiology of the menstrual cycle. We will discuss the details of the fertility awareness method: how it works, how to monitor fertility signs, how to chart, and how to use those charts to achieve or avoid pregnancy. We will also look at sample charts and learn how to interpret them and recognize cycle irregularities. This two-part online class will give you a better understanding of how your body works and will enable you to take control of your reproductive health.
