I have always been moved by the natural world around me. As a child, I found inspiration while exploring the woods of northern Connecticut. As a young adult, I spent 5 years working on a lavender farm in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and it was here that I discovered my calling was centered around herbs and the health of my community.

As I began to pursue my herbal education I was experiencing my own health struggles; irregular menstrual cycles, acne, fibroids, heavy bleeding, low energy and digestive problems. I found that my healthcare providers couldn’t offer me much in the way of healing. Answers were often, “the pill” or “this is just your normal.” I craved more information and more guidance. I didn’t want to just put a band aid on my problems, I wanted to know why I was feeling bad, what was the root of my imbalances and then address the problem from that place. Fortunately, I had the answer right in front of me. Herbalism, nutrition, fertility awareness and lifestyle changes helped me to uncover what was causing my health issues and to find a starting point to heal.

Over time, I began to feel good in my body. I had more energy and my cycle was no longer a problem. A few years later, my husband and I were ready to start a family. After a year of trying, we were unable to conceive. Fertility specialists said we had ‘unexplained infertility’ and recommended we try IUI. We decided to hold off and really focus on our health and try to improve our fertility with herbs, lifestyle, nutrition and acupuncture. After six months we were able to conceive naturally. I went on to have two healthy pregnancies and two happy and healthy babies. I benefited tremendously from the nutritional and herbal support I relied on during my pregnant and postpartum periods.

Drawing on my own experiences and the knowledge and wisdom of others, I want to help empower women to take control of their health and to feel good. We don’t need to move through our days feeling bad, it doesn’t have to be that way. We can feel amazing! While this modality requires time and effort, it is both effective and sustaining. I continue to be in awe of the healing ability of plants, food and people and I am humbled to work with women on their path to wellness.
